Assessments

The results from the assessment will identify your child’s strengths and challenges. This information is used for goal setting, tailoring the intervention plan, measuring therapy success and is used as supportive documentation when applying for funding

We provide a full range of assessments to meet any child’s needs:

  • Initial Occupational Therapy Assessment: 90 minute consultation which includes assessment and goal setting. Summary report on assessment findings and recommendations provided.

  • Handwriting Assessment: 90 minute consultation which includes handwriting assessment and goal setting. Formal handwriting assessment report provided.

  • Sensory Processing (SIPT): The gold standard of Sensory Integration Assessments. Evaluation is conducted by Certified Sensory Integration Therapist (Occupational Therapist). Assessment time depends on child’s capacity including parent interview. Full report and parent feedback meeting is provided.

  • Individual Functional Capacity Assessment: Varies depending on your child’s needs. Can include standardised assessments and questionnaires, data analysis, correspondence and stakeholder engagement, OT observations at home, school and community, Full Functional Capacity Assessment report and parent feedback is provided.

  • Feeding Assessment: Evaluation is conducted by OT certified in the SOS Feeding approach & Sensory Integration. Includes: sensory observations, evaluation of oral motor skills, actual process of feeding and a verbal discussion with parents about results and recommendations.

Assessment and reports can be used to measure therapy outcomes and success, which is supportive documentation you can present when applying for funding to meet your child’s needs.
